Cookies, without the guesswork.

Updated 23 October 2026

Necessary storage only

This version has no installed advertising or website analytics trackers. Datamon does use browser storage for requested work and cookies for cloud sessions. The notice is an acknowledgement of that storage, not consent to marketing. You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer.

Google sign-in cookies

When Google sign-in is enabled, datamon.auth (named __Secure-datamon.auth on HTTPS) holds an encrypted account session for up to 90 days, renewed while the workspace is active. It is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Auth.js also uses short-lived cookies to verify the sign-in request, prevent forgery and return you to Datamon. These are necessary authentication cookies. Signing out removes the account session. Google controls cookies on its own sign-in page.

Cloud session cookie

Legacy visooal_cloud cookies no longer authorize cloud workspaces. Account projects and connected analysis now require a signed-in account; Datamon no longer creates anonymous workspace sessions.

Projects and preferences

Account project data and settings are saved in the database. Browser keys beginning datamon.account keep account-specific cached projects, pending changes, and preferences. Keys beginning visooal.projects store local project data and the workspace index. Other editor preferences store selected views and working settings. This storage persists until removed. datamon.storage-notice.v1 remembers acknowledgement of this notice; it is rechecked after 180 days. It contains a version and timestamp, not a tracking identifier.

External providers

When you select external map tiles or request connected services, those providers receive network requests governed by their own policies. Cookie settings here cannot control a different website’s storage. Fonts are hosted locally; the local editor does not require external analytics.

Managing storage

Use your browser’s site-data controls to inspect or block storage. Export important projects first. Deleting account cookies signs you out; it does not erase saved database projects. Contact info@datamon.app for cloud deletion requests. Blocking storage may prevent project saving or connected services.

Future optional cookies

No optional categories are available to enable now. If analytics or advertising is added, the deployment must describe the provider, purpose and retention, keep those scripts off before a valid choice, and provide equally accessible acceptance, rejection and withdrawal.
